In this subtle examination of male culture, actor Richard Marcus speaks directly and intimately to the camera as if to an old friend. He begins with a painful memory of failed romance, muses on the uncertainty of human relationships, then shifts to the more reliable subject of baseball. He seeks comfort in the ritual and camaraderie of the game and the die-hard loyalty of its fans. Losing himself in the memory of a pick-up game in which he made the winning play, he recalls, "On the strength of that catch, I'm a ballplayer again."
